Inner West Neighbour Aid is a fully incorporated organisation since 1994. It is funded through the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care(DoHA) under its Home and Community Care (HACC) program. IWNA is managed by a volunteer Management Committee made up of local residents, clients, volunteers and community workers who are elected at the Annual General Meeting.
The co-ordination of the projects are carried out by a small number of paid staff who recruit, train and supervise volunteers. For $2 you can become a member of IWNA's Incorporated Association. This gives you the ability to vote on many decision faced by the agency. Volunteers and clients are encouraged to stand for positions on the Management Committee as they offer valuable contributions to the running of the services.
Home and Community Care works to support people who are frail aged, disabled or carers in their own home. For more information visit the Australian Government Department of Aged.
